RAW Conversion in C1Pro, As shot - dust spotted only, minor crop to top to make 16:10 ratio.

Was rumaging through shots from back in the summer looking for a few to try out as screen backgrounds - this one is one of my favourites so far as (for me) it brings back memories of the nice hot summer days up in the high pennine moors - unlike today which is sunny, but bloomin freezing :biggrin:.

If I was going for a print of this, I'd probably change and crop in slightly more from the LHS, but as it is it leaves plenty of room for desktop icons at 1920x1200

A very nice image - I love the colours of the landscape. Would have been a belter with a bit of a head turn. I can see how it'd work well as desktop wallpaper. Perhaps flipped horizontally would suit this purpose better, what with desktop icons defaulting to the left hand side of the screen.

Good work.

Hi Nick

Great composition and setting, a slight head turn would have taken this image over the top!

I guess you prefer the more "classic" view such as this one with the foot up?.

Same details as for original image - 'cept no cropping. Mental note to clean sensor more frequently too :biggrin:

The second image is a cracker Nick, Your Moors look so much nicer than our flat and featureless Sheppey  .....

Really like it.

Lovely shot Nick - ah memories of summer. I prefer the original post with the bird surveying its domain, and with me sharing the view. The second shot is very nice but more bog standard!

Both superb images Nick. The first works for me as it gives a sense of the bird looking into the scene beyond. Good for depth. Great wallpaper too.

Hi again

I know where you are coming from with the first post, but I prefer the second!

I'm with David and Rob. the first does give a sense of looking into the space and it leads you eye further into the image which I like. Saying that, the second is much more to my liking.

2nd works for me.
I've never been a fan of looking away shots.

2nd works better for me too, he's also moved slightly forward of that annoying blade of grass
