Thanks for posting these. They are great to look at. I'm a pretty big sucker for waterfall shots, and the one of Whitewater Falls is wonderful and perhaps my favorite, but they're all very nice.

Todd,
Wow what a collection, and your cell phone takes really great pictures! I gotta get me one of those!!
I like the Bullpen Falls shot. Those pools have always captured my imagination, so I like how you included the uppermost pool with the floating leaves. Great stuff from Linville also.

Very nice TC!
What lake is in the South Carolina shot?
Posted by Todd Caudle on November 2, 2006 at 2:00 PM
Jody, it's got some wierd Indian name. The lake is on land formerly owned by Duke Power Co., but now owned by the state. The access roads are only open during hunting season. The place was crawling with bear "hunters," groups who release the dogs, and once they tree a bear, just shoot it out of the tree. One woman told us (and she was bragging) how one of the three bears they bagged was so far up in the tree that they cut it down to get to him. Yeah, that's reeeeaaaal sportsmanlike. Although I'm not, and never will be, a hunter, I'm all for hunting as a form of wildlife management. But this method leaves me with a bad taste.

I will take a guess that its Lake Jocassee.

Todd, the saddest part of this type of hunting is what happens to the dogs. They do the same thing up in Dolly Sods, and during "training" in the fall where they stop short of pulling the trigger, a lot of dogs wander out of the range of the radio collars and get lost in the woods. This past weekend I even saw a lost radio collared dog way back in the Smokies. Very sad.

Wow! It looks like someone had a very productive trip!
Take it from this hillbilly...AWESOME, dude. Except for that Lake Jocassee shot. I dont get it. All I see are grey skies, boring light. Oh well, glad I left early and didn't waste my time there.

Awesome stuff Todd! I especially liked the Linville shots and the triple tree trunk with flowing water shot. Sweeeeeeeeet!
