Went to Donna Knook yesterday with a friend and met up with John and Tom, the later having problems getting out of bed in the morning The morning light was perfect (where were you Tom) and later the wind got up and once or twice to create the conditions seen in this image.

Hi David,
Good seal image with a typical Donna feel to it. One thing that always gets me with these shots from Donna is.......how much sand do you guys have to clean out of your systems when you're done?

Hi Rob
I didnt change lenses out there, so camera and lenses are sand free, but my Gitzo will have to be taken apart and cleaned!

Hello Dave
That blown sand makes this image for me, I like it a lot. You would think these Greys are a different species to the ones we get on our rocky coasts - its amazing what a difference the environment makes.
Best wishes

When I see pictures like this posted on NPN, It reminds me how little I know of wlidlife photography and how far I got to go for me to get cracking shots like this,
Dave, nice shot, as for "where were you Tom", well I was waiting for a weather update from a roving reporter

Crackin image David. The wind didn't blow last time I was up that way two years ago.
Try cropping the 'sand layer' off the top of the picture so there are just two colour bands and see what you think.

Nice image David. The sand was like that on my visit last year, in between the snow storms!
Cracking shot,I have visited donna nook a few times and have had all sorts of weather including heavy snow but never wind like this

Top notch shot David, I like it best when the sand is blowing at Donna despite the worries about getting it in the camera, it adds greatly to this shot.
