Returning from Westonbirt was an incredible sunset reminiscant of winter Scandinavian sunsets where the glowing light just lingers and gets stronger.
After about 15 minutes of driving and getting more desperate to try and find a strong subject to do the light justice I just about found a farm field with large tree just before the glow disappeared.

I heard about this from DK and co but up here in Yorkshire it clouded over late afternoon so we never got this awesome sunset. I've been in the same seat as you, frantically driving looking for a shot and struggling. Always the same when you're under pressure. I think you did ok in the end, good strong colours and a bold outline. Shame about the one con trail but that could be easily remidied should you wish. Good shot.

Nice moody shot, but I would take the vapour trail out.

Hi Mike
Great capture of the sunset. I might be tempted to crop to a more panoramic composition and chop off some of the top of the frame. Not often we see these colours in the UK skies.
Very nice image with great colours and a variety of cropping options,We had a similar sky here in Switzerland tonight over the alpes,i thought there is a landscaper jumping for joy somewhere
