seals at dawn
Continuing the seals theme from Sunday's mini-meet, here's one taken at dawn. Would have liked more seals in the surf but they seemed a bit timid early on. Not sure this works entirely but it gives you an idea what I was after.

Nikon D2X 500mm f/4 plus 1.4x Manual exposure 1/160 @ f/8 ISO 100

Seeing as it was almost a NPN mini gathering, we ought to have a seal thread where we could all post a couple of shots each.

Hi John

Works for me, I really like it and I don't think it would have worked so well with more seals. I'm jealous, we missed that very early light (got lost in Leicester) and FD went out yesterday and purchased a Sat Nav a day too late!

He's just been on the phone moaning that he'd had to spend 240 quid on a TomTom after watching you struggling without glasses and the map book upside down on your lap

I see what you were trying to get here John. The colours are great and you were lucky not to have too many seals in frame. The rim lighting on the front seal helps to differentiate it from the second seal (not looking like a 2 headed beast  ).

Hi John

A good idea, although I think I would prefer the seals photographed from the 'sunny' side to reveal a bit more detail in them. In the early morning light the seals colours can look very attractive.

cheers
