Getting somewhere
Finally after a month of going to the Jura to get some Chamois images with little success i managed some half reasonable shots today,I found the chamois in what i call the 2nd meadow and managed to get into position behind a tree knowing that they would have to come my way to get back to the trees and cliffs if somebody happened along, they came in my direction but at an angle so i had to put on a 2x to get some enviro shots,After about an hour i heard some snorting and heavy footprints thru the leaves and looked across to the forest to see a male chamois running in my direction i tracked him taking a few shots until he stopped in his tracks looking straight at me,turned and run back into the trees,as the females drifted more my way he would run out of the forest and herd them together before they got too close,he did this 4 times before they all went into the woods and down the cliffs,The male was showing classic rutting behaviour and as the rut is about to start i hope to get some more action

Hi Dave
great capture of a beautiful animal. Just a pity about the OOF material in the FG. :toast:

Hi Dave

A good pose but I feel the foreground grass stems detract from the image and the background is a bit distracting too. However a nice pose with good eye contact and general composition is good. I might apply some more selective USM around the eye area.

cheers

Decided to tidy up with the clone tool

Hi Dave

A definite improvement. I can just about see the cloning marks, but only because I know they are there. Just need to get rid of the big round white blob in the right hand top corner.

cheers

I think the cloning has improved it, the white grass on it's breast was a distraction. Nice viewpoint and good eye contact. Could use a little USM.
