A few weeks ago my girlfriend and I drove across the country (San Diego to Ann Arbor), spending most of our time in southern Utah and Colorado. We didn't have a whole lot of time to spend in most of these places so a lot of these shots may be from viewpoints you've seen photographed a million times before.

Utah is an amazing place, and probably the most interesting thing we did was hike the Zion Narrows. We started early and did not see another soul the entire time until we were on our way out around 1pm.

WOW, what a trip that was! I love the Zion photo with clouds creeping around the peaks. Very moody. Thanks for sharing.

Quite a road trip! Very well planned. You hit a lot of highlights and have some great images. I especially like the Monument Valley dust storm.

What a trip! Great images too. My favorite is also the Monument Valley in a dust storm image.

Thanks all.

The misty morning in Zion was amazing but unfortunately I lack the photography skills to capture it. I ended up with a lot of overly dark foregrounds and overexposed skies. Not sure what you could do to better deal with the contrast between the dark cliffs and white sky, graduated filter? Maybe just waiting for the sun to break through a little more would have helped.

More pics should be showing up daily as I try to get those other pages done, I took a picture about every 50 feet in the Zion Narrows.
