Another from last Sunday's trip to Donna Knook
Canon 1D MkII + 300f2.8 IS + x1.4 iso 250 1/500 at f8 (Full width cropped to pano)

Hi David
Excellent shot, good composition, great action, classic Donna Nook image.
My only nit would be the sea and surf looks overexposed and washed out. I tried tweaking the levels on the background only and tweaking the saturation a fraction. You might not agree but thought you might be interested.
cheers
Sean

Hi Sean
Yes must agree I like your version better especially the sea. I think this illustrates where the forum is very helpfull as I did look at the sea and wasn't too happy but thought well that was very much how it was - we had very thin high cloud at the time which was good for light but not for reflecting in the water. Also your method of darkening the water has given a more natural result than the one I often use - so I have now adjusted the original!
Hi David a nice image both versions look fine to me the top being slightly brighter but not too bright.
Phillip.

Hello David
I agree with Sean's comments, it does improve the image. The Seal's expressions are just magic!
Best wishes

Hi David,
Great behvioural study and technically on the button. Would like to see more of the face of the seal on it's back, do you have other versions?

Hi Andrew
Yes but in them I have lost the expression of the other seal - I will have to swap their heads around

Excellent interaction David.
I like the crop and the timing on this shot. I can see a slight improvement with Seans touch-up and it really brings an already good image into a better league.
Good to see the Donna Nook Seals providing good images again this year.

Wow what a funny image, it must be the way you tell them, what a cracker.

Not much to add to what's already been said. I think it's one of the best seal-shots I have seen and it shows more action than most. Love the on the back pose
