i think this is a good shot, maybe a little higher in the frame? good pose, good catchlight etc. also looks quite dark on my monitor. a levels adjustment in PS might get this right, maybe someone who knows more about birds can post an example for you?

I wish my windows were clean enough to shoot through, assuming that you were firing through glass window it turned out ok. Nice pose, but it is a bit dark/flat, a little bit of work in PS should sort it out. I agree with writepic that it needs lifting in the frame..........maybe just a little bit more USM?

Hi Craig, also looks very dark on my monitor. Maybe next time it would be better to take this kind of shot from the outside rather than from behind a window. Good pose, good catchlight but way to dark.

Why are you shooting through the window

Good background, perch and pose but is very dark,a bit more work in ps may bring results :toast:

You definately need to adjust the levels on this to bring out the colours. Just go into levels in PS and adjust the highlight slider (right side) by dragging it to the edge of the black histogram, then add some unsharp mask.

I've done a repost here, hope you don't mind. Took a smidge off the top too.

The guys have said (and done) it all, with a fine result, not forgetting that you can't make a silk purse from a sow's ear.. A good example of how useful this forum is.
Best wishes
