wolves anyone?
On a recent trip to Virginia Dianne and I stopped at the Lakota Wolf Preserve in New Jersey. I'm thinking of going back this winter when hopefully there is some snow on the ground.

Would anyone else possibly be interested? The website for the preserve is www.lakotawolf.com

Hi Nick. I think it would be a great winter trip. I'm interested depending on dates. Is it $175 each for a half day/$400 whole day, or is it cheaper for a group (and how many would we have to get)? Would probably have to do it on the spur of the moment if you want to catch snow.

Patricia.....

When I was there last month the rate was $400 for a half day, which they define as approx. four hours. I'm not sure what a short session for $175 entails.

According to their website they offer a special rate for groups, but do not indicate what the rate is.

The wolves are in four large enclosures. The first two had the arctic wolves in small groups and in my opinion offered the best opportunities for photography.

The other two enclosures have the timber wolves in larger groups. All the shooting is done through hinged openings in the chain link fences.

Nick,

I would be very interested in going. I looked into this once before and have always wanted to go. When I checked, it seemed like a group of six photographers paid the price of five, but that was two years ago, so I am not sure if that is still the deal.

Keep me posted for sure. I could go in December up through mid January, but then my work load would probably prevent me from going.

BTW, Beautiful shot of the wolf! :toast:

I got in contact with Pam Bacon at the wolf preserve in New Jersey. She indicated they have a rate for groups of five photographers at the cost for four. That would bring the per person cost to $560 per person for a day long shoot, as opposed to $700.

I was thinking some time in January. I know that works for Rich. How about anyone/everyone else?
