Hi
I have a few issues, that I'm praying people can give me some advice on, Because I'm worried that I might have messed up my warranty, you see I bought my camera and lens through Ebay from Hong Kong, through a highly reputable Camera dealer, no worries with that side or anything, but the fact I live in Ireland and I bought in HK leaves me wondering were do I register to receive warranty, From looking at the Canon site in UK it says you have to have bought in UK fair enough, (the UK site covers Ireland as well) so I register in HK, not so good... Can I do so as I'm not a resident in HK and plus if I can, any Postage to there is going to cost a lot money, which I'll except but I'd rather not, Has anybody else had a similar experience and found some way of registering in your home country, any advice would be very helpful, the lens I bought is the Canon 100-400mm IS USM, its also the lens I've seen mentioned a lot as being very temperamental, I could have a need to send back at some stage.
As well, could people give some advice on proper camera and lens cleaning, even just post some URL's or something, It's my first serious camera and lens so I should be taking better care of it, prevention is better than cure they say...
Thanks
Andy

No one game to comment.
Well I don't know what the laws are like in Ireland but over here you would be on your own. IE for warranty repairs you will have to send it back to where you purchased it. However if you are prepared to pay for repairs the local canon people cannot refuse you.
This is what you have to weigh up when deciding to order international or local. Unless the product has an international warranty in which case you should be able to get it seen to anywhere.

Thanks Rodney, its as I suspected, ah well, I can't complain I did save a good percentage of the price of the lens from buying online, to buy in the shops in ireland is unbelieveable expensive... Will check out about international warrannty.
