This is one of a series where the thing caught a fish, but knew it was being watched so headed as fast as it could away from me leaving me with back shots of it with struggling prey. So slimy beak is remains of fish. I'm aways impressed by their green eyes, it has long been, and still is an ambition to get a close up of one.

Cheers

Hi Tim

Super image - I like everything about it, the composition, head turn toward the camera and fantastic light!

Super Tim, gotta love those eyes.....

For big ugly birds they are very wary, but a bird I am very fond of and this is a shot I have been after for some time with no success...

Yep they are real shy, so very good accomplishment here, Tim. Everything works fine in this shot :toast: :toast:

Keep the eye and throw everything else away-bloody ugly things that ruin fisheries-nothing wrong with the image though-cracker :toast:

Cracking image Tim. I know what you mean as they are always swimming away from the camera.

Hi Tim

Nice shot, good light, pose and sharpness. I might be tempted to clone out the blobs on the waters surface for artistic purposes.
