Anyone using this papermake? If so which paper? I am interested in giving this a try as they also seem to have ICC profiles for the HP Designjet range.

It is good paper, although fairly expensive. I have been using the Hahnemuhle Fine Art Photo Rag 308 for matte prints and I am looking forward to using the new Fine Art Pearl 285, which is supposed to give results that are almost identical to silver gelatin prints in both look and feel.

Hi Rene
I recently evaluated several paper types for use with my new Epson R1800 printer. I ordered some mixed sample packs from On Line Paper in order to try different art papers.
I am just looking at my test prints now. The HahneMuhle PhotoSmooth 210gm is good, a smooth art paper with a subtle texture. The Watercolour Parchment 285gm is also good with a more textured surface to it. Although I noticed looking on the Online papers website these papers seem to have been updated and the names have changed, the HahneMuhle range is quite extensive.
I also tried The Somerset Velvet papers and the Crane Museo papers. In general I found the quality of all the art papers excellent with only subtle differences in feel and texture between them.
In the end I choose Crane Museo Archival Matte 250gm for an art paper with a smooth clean finish, and Somerset Enhanced Textured for an art paper with a textured finish. I prefered the texture of the Somerset paper to the HahneMuhle equivalent.
So far I have only used these papers for a few test prints using the generic profiles available from the manufacturers website. My next job is to get some custom profiles made using Native Digital. The generic profiles are pretty accurate so it will be interesting to see if the custom profiles make much difference.
I also would recommend On Line Paper for buying paper. Always very quick delivery, usually next day, and they stock a good range of paper types.
If you are unsure order some of their sample packs and see which papers you like, and also consider the range of products available (e.g. greetings cards, postcards, etc) if this is important to you.
cheers
Sean

Rene,
I have tried Hanhemule in many of it types but the paper I settled with was PermaJet Fine Art Museum Classic (310gsm) I would give this a go. I use SCSimaging for my profiles, Simon is excellent. Drop me a line if you want anymore info.
