Turnstone in flight
Taken in Bridlington harbour earlier in the year. Very flighty and fast and this one's gone a little too far past me really.

Nikon D2x, 80-200 AF-S ISO 400 1/3200 @ f/2.8

It's certainly no easy task catching one of these in flight.I actually don't mind the fact that he's gone past you as it shows the wing and tail patterns off superbly.
The birds plumage has excellent contrast here, not over done by any means but just enough to make him really 'pop' from the background.

Hi John

Nicely caught, the turnstone is framed well in the shot and it shows the wing detail well.

Difficult to get flight shots like this, top marks for technique.

What a superb flight shot - pin sharp and the image really 'pops'.
As Sean has already said - top marks for technique.

I like this, shows we should endeavor more to get flight shots.

Hi John, lovely photo of the Turnstone, and a very well executed flight-shot. My only wish would be for something to anchor the image, as the water doesn't hold much texture - if you can say it that way

Hi John

Excellent flight shot - I don't mind the fact that the bird is now going away from you, but yes it would have been nice to have captured it as well as you have here a second or so earlier!

Tough shot, so well done. I have a lot to learn!! I think a bit more of a head turn towards the camera would have made the fact it's slightly past you less of an issue. Still, very nicely done
