Hi All
Whilst at Slimbridge recently I walked past the bit where the captive Mandarins hang out and I noticed (heard!) all the males were having a spot of group washing and preening. I couldn't resist a photograph......
Canon 20D, 300F4 L + 1.4x TC, ISO 400, eval metering -2/3, f7.1, 1/200th. tripod. Full frame (but might benefit from a slight crop?).
Great result Sean, full of action and what a gorgeous species this is.

Great image - full of movement and colour.
Not sure about cropping it - maybe a little of the right and bottom but it is fine as it is to me.
I certainly wish it was mine!

Great action shot and full of colour. Lovely and sharp around the face.

Great action..... looks like the membrane has covered the eye....
Well seen and certainly well taken.
brilliant shot and I love the water. The eye is a bit distracting is it blind?
Nice shot - my only nit is that if the bird had been a little lower in the frame we would have enjoyed even more of those water droplets!
