I spent Halloween Night on a small deserted beach along the San Mateo Coast. Some of you might think I am crazy but it was awesome lying there in my warm sleeping bag and hearing the ocean all night long. And there are few things that come close to waking up on a beach, seeing the shore birds flying overhead and feeling the wind and surf in your face.
Early last month I went to Northern Arizona to meet Tony Kuyper. While we were there he showed me some places that had the most fantastic sandstone formations I have ever seen. Since then I have often wondered what it would be like to return to my favorite haunts where the rocks, although beautiful, are more modest in comparison. However, that morning my old friends once again didn't let me down. In fact, it almost seemed like they were making an extra effort to glow in the soft light. I had to stand in knee deep water to make this photograph but it felt like I was on top of the world. I was back home and enjoying every moment of it.
Look forward to hearing your thoughts on this photograph.
Anil, your specialty of producing these wonderful abstracts and pattern type images really hits a very high note with this shot. For all the twists and turns and seemingly edges and ledges here, the image is exposed and detailed as good as it gets. Great shot!

Thanks Nelcha and Scott for your comments.
Scott: Unfortunately, I was a little under the weather and didn't get to see your post on CANP in time. It would have been nice to meet up. Perhaps next time.
