Zion NP - The Subway

I visited Zion for a few days, the first week of November and decided to do the Subway hike (9 miles roundtrip)from the Left Fork of North Creek trailhead, rather than taking the more technical route from above (since carrying camera gear and swimming in pools of water doesn't usually have a good outcome).

Great shot, Zion has so many amazing places to explore. I like how you have the walls overlapping to form a complete circle, it really emphasizes the angles.

On my sRGB monitor the photo is a bit cold (or the colors are muted). The comp is great.

Incredible. I've seen livelier color in others' shots, but you go with Ma Nature gives you.

Great shot. I made that same hike a few years ago and in my haste forgot to bring my tripod --d'oh! Its a beautiful place that you captured very well.

Momo, you're right it does look a bit cool when converted to sRGB from Adobe 1998. Here's a redo. It could also be my 7 year old CRT monitor (Apple Studio Display-on a PC) which is on the list to be replaced. It definitely was a chilly area to shoot in November. It was like going into a walk-in refrigerator after the 3 hour hike to get there.

Yeah, I like it better now (I was a Velvia man).

We did the the Left Fork/Subway hike on Friday. Can’t belive I didn’t run into you in Zion. But then again, I have not met you in person, so I am not sure what you look like!!

the redo version of this is stunning.

I love the reworked version! And I'll second Lars's opinion that the illusion of the full circled wall at the bottom really adds to the sense of the place.
