I and neighborhood eagles were out today enjoying the sunshine and view.
They had to ride out heavy rain and 60MPH winds yesterday while I rode thru a 22 hour blackout. Whidbey Island was really hammered, but storm dumped new snow on the Olympics seen here across Puget Sound.

That's a great shot, Craig. Amazing how much rain and wind we have gotten this month !
Interesting shot with a great background. Looks a little oversharpened. Did you try a shot with the birds somewhere away from the center of the frame?

Oh, to have had a 500mm lens with a 1.5 crop...still those eagles are perched perfectly. I'd make a vert image out of this.

I love this, can you sell me a print?

Neat shot Craig. I like Ricks idea about a vertical image crop.

Swami, I haven't completely mastered Marc's sharpening technique yet. I have other comps of the birds on the perch off center. Here is a pano: http://www.pbase.com/csully/image/70341358
I also have other shots with a vert comp. Its just that this one of this particular landing was composed as shown. I will crop a vertical. I just don't know how to post another image in this thread.
Thanks for the good critiques.

Craig,
I echo everyones comments here. I think Rick's vertical crop suggestion has a lot of merit.
I like the pano that you linked to a lot. Sharpening looks better on that one, except for the backlit birds which still look a little too chunky/haloed.
Hey! wasn't this on King 5 News tonight?? It's a great shot and will be even better as a vertical crop as Rick said. I hope you'll repost it when done.

Yes Catherine, it was the King 5 Weatherpix.
I am reposting it cropped vertical. I don't know how to add another image to this thread, so will do it separate. But I have to wait 72 hours!
