For these to really work, I think everything has to be perfect. I would say your pretty close. IMHO of course.

Pretty close to perfect indeed, I love the way this image kind of shimmers, it keeps drawing the eye to somewhere else in the image. I would frame this and post it...and I haven't seen it on a good monitor yet either. Good capture.

Very nice Rick, I was trying to capture a shot like this, only on the east side with tamarac as the yellow contrast, it just never happend.
