Hi,

For some reason unknown to me at the moment my feeding station is very, very quiet, most birdlife seems to be lurking in the undergrowth, I have started to wonder if I had a Sparrowhawk around but can find no evidence etc....

Whilst there Sunday Morning all I had was a group of around ten Collared Doves so thought I would make the best of them... Full frame apart from a slight crop from the right to A4 proportions.

Curves and levels in C1, PK capture sharpen, Local contrast boost, resizing and final web sharpen (Phil Shaw method) in CS2.

All the best

BTW I shall be away from Wednesday till the start of next month, next weekend I am running a Post Processing workshop for 15 people which hopefully will become more regular, so I am won't be able to comment a great deal etc till I return.....

Hi Phil,

It's good to see this species so well photographed. Detail and lighting is superb. The OOF branches about halfway along the back do not really perturb me although they are noticeable.

Good luck with your workshop. :toast:

Fantastic apart from the perch which has a 'feeding station feel' to it. The light is lovely.

LOL John.... the perch isn't one that has been put there, that is how it is where the farmer has cut some stuff back.... know what you mean though..

Hi Phil,

I agree entirely with Dave C on this one. Can you adjust the WB to cloudy or something similar to warm it up?

Regards Chris.

Hi...

Dave/Chris... entirely correct, me being lazy I did a batch w/b in C1, forgetting the light had changed since I shot my card.

I have now corrected for the cast

If you refresh the view it should show....

Cheers

Hi Phil,

I don't remember seeing too many of these posted before, which is a shame,as they're really quite attractive birds, especially when seen up close like this.
A really attractive image with that gorgeous warm backdrop putting this up a notch or two.
I like this one a lot.

Hi Phil

The perch is OK, I've seen a lot worse, but the bird, BG & light are excellent. A great representation of a much maligned bird.

Excellent light and very nice comp Phil. Love the colours and it looks pin sharp. If the BG was any smoother and the same colour, it may look a bit false? One I'd certainly like in my portfolio.
