Not a really great post, but I just realised that I had two almost exactly identical photographs of the same scene and location, taken within about 10-15 minutes of each other. They illustrate (to me atleast) the great variable we always forget (thanks to Einstein for reminding us), and that is - time.

Time decides whether the light is right ... obviously "right" being a relative term suiting particular tastes (thanks once again to Einstein for reminding us  )

This is the second photograph, taken only about 10-15 minutes after the photograph above.

Both photographs made in Parc Rene-Levesque in Montreal, with a Canon 20D, Canon EF-S 10-22mm, with a 3-stop hard step Singh Ray GND filter.

What a great illustration of how things change in just a short amount of time.

Good point and illustration my friend. Unfortunately sometimes those moments of optimal lighting are fleeting, seconds to minutes if you are lucky. I guess that is part of the thrill.
