Great Spotted Woodpecker
Hi All,

Thanks for the replies on my last post.

This is a Woodpecker which I took this morning at the same site as the Jay post last week. We also have a Sparrowhawk visiting so hopefully he will pose for me too!

The techs were:
D2X, 200-400mm 1.7tc, 1/100th sec at F8 iso640, cropped from the right slightly.

C and C welcome

Regards Chris

An impressive result, I would have been tempted to use a subtle bit of fill flash just to lift it a bit, also I might have panned my camera slightly to the right to better balance the composition

Very Nice. I would be pleased if this were mine.

Hello Chris

Nice image - maybe flip it right - left? Works better for me anyway.

Spot on for me Chris - I think you have handled the exposure well. Certainly makes me envious!

Very nice image, Chris. Comp. works fine for me, but I would be tempted to run another round of USM on just the head. :toast:
