Delicate Rays...(2 repost options)
This is Delicate Arch, in Arches NP. Pretty hard to get a new perspective of the arch, but I tried. I had to scale up some pretty steep stuff to get this shot, I had my tripod legs in some of those holes you see to the left. Couple close calls, but nothing to bad. Hope you like and thanks for looking.:)

This is a perspective that I haven't seen before, or at least I don't remember seeing it from this angle. Kudos to you for going out of the way to try to find something new. A good image overall. I feel the arch itself is a littel too centered, but it doesn't kill the photo for me. Good work! :toast:

The rays are great, as is the blue/orange combination and composition.

I am bugged some by the visible GND darkening of the rock moving up on the left side.

Anothe rnice on from your trip. The sky really draws my attention.

Jeremy, I really like this shot. Infact it seems like you are getting a LOT of wonderful shots from your trip. The best thing is that they all share a unique and personal quality to them - that is the best thing any artist can hope for!

Sure looks like you guys had a lot of fun. I'm soo jealous. I love the sky in this one. and it's too bad that the most interesting portion of it is off to the right side, because I want to chop out the right 1/3 of the image, making this square...and ultimately a stronger comp. Perhaps you have some in your collection form this spot...before the clouds migrated to the right?

Option #2

I am actually kinda leaning toward the pano, but thought I'd see what yall thought. #2 is also stronger than the original...I just don't know.

I dig the pano version, great idea!

Hi, Jeremy. What a wonderful shot. Sounds like you went to great lengths to get it, too. Hey, I like your first comp the best because of the sky. But I favor a different crop than your two choices. See what you think about cropping off the left, just to left of your surname in the signature line; lose about an inch from the top and about an inch from the right. I like it that you can see the bowl below the arch, and i like seeing some of where your vantage point was. Other option is to keep it the same and lighten the top left with a curves adjustment layer. What do you think? Would like to see reposts if you end up liking any of the suggestionsÉ Thanks for showing this.

They are all very good. The pano really works well.

Nice sky in this jeremy, and a little differnt perspective than I have seen. I like the original, but the center comp of delicate just keeps me there, no leading lines to it. But the pano gives a little different view, and I think might look stronger in print. This even might look real strong b/w. Nice capture!

I'll go for the pano, Jeremy. But really, the comp is good, the sky is good but the lighting is so flat, that adding the fact that it's a hyper-photograhed icon, I can't say I'd bother with this photo too much. Good memories, yes, great photo, no.

hmmm...that's tough dude. I like both...so why not have both, eh? If you want to make them even more different...try one in BW.

Thanks guys and gals. Still not sure. It will probably be sent to the island of misfit toys for the season, or til I'm more ambitious. :wavey:

Jeremy,
From a guy who shots and see's the world in a "Pano" format, this image is super! The angle is a fresh perspective on a well shot icon, and what you have here is a "Superb" image that would make a spectacular 12 x 36, or better yet, if the file is big enough,... a 20x 60!!!!

GREAT SHOT!!!! :toast: :toast: :toast:

Great shot, Jeremy ! I prefer the original since it really shows the scale of the place in a vision that is 100% all your own. Hope you didn't hurt the sandstone too much with your tripod legs. Glad you didn't hurt yourself either....
