Taken at Coombe Abbey in Warwickshire.

Never had much luck with these, but this is probably my best to date. They move pretty quickly and tend to go on the ground a lot more than the perches.

Thanks for all the comments on my previous upload. Taken Advice onboard hopefully and hope the processing is a bit better.

My nits are the OOF tail and right foot but stopping down on aperture was pushing the limits for HH at any lower shutter speeds. Reluctant to push the ISO up as well!

A nice image of a bird I rarely see let alone get a chanve to photograph. Well composed, nicely exposed and a good uncluttered background. You've pointed out the minor nits so not much I can add I'm afraid, but they don't detract from the image IMO.

Hi Graeme

Nice shot, perch and BG my only wish would have been a tad more DOF but that is a very minor nit!

Hi Graeme

Nice shot and good, clean, uncluttered background. You have already mentioned the most obvious nits - I find the blurred foot definately distracting. I might have risked going up to ISO 600 to give a tad more dof. Fill flash would have been another option (I haven't gone down that route with long lenses yet). Great wee bird, though - haven't seen one in decades.

Cheers

Malcolm

Apart from the blurred foot, which distracts me a little, a very nice image

I 've got 4 of these that are regular visiters to my feeding station but I still haven't got one to land on a perch for more than a milli second

Nice capture Graeme.
