Another from my trip to Monterey. I loved the dark lines snaking thre the MG from the Bull Kelp. High tide was slowly coming in but this was a moment when everything seemed really tranquil.

I like the other one better but this one is sweet also. Since this type of shot is so common, what would you think of cropping down from the top to make the frame more squarish? You have some stuff in the foreground that I like to look at but my eye keeps going up to the sky to see what's up there, what's the relation. With a squarish crop (to just above the first line of clouds) you end up with lots of cool stuff to look at and lots of cool layers the cool stuff is in.

I agree with Mark on the crop. I'm lovin what's in the foreground but I am of the opinion that there is too much sky.

I can see where that would simplify the attention and remove the darker cloud in the top..... nice call, Mark.

Serene image of the Pacific. I like it. The suggested crop works for me to emphasize the fg.

I'd say go for the 1/3 - 2/3 crop and the forground really pops a lot more. I really like this John!

I think this is excellent. The crop suggestions are good but I think the image is so good as is it wouldn't make much of a difference.
