Hi folks, Nancy & I escaped over Thanksgiving Holiday to Leavenworth. While there we hiked up Ingalls Creek off of Highway 97. We got rained on and snowed upon higher up but it was still an enjoyable hike.

This image isn't anything mind blowing but I like the scene.

So please let me know how yall like this one.

Neat wintry image of Ingalls Creek. The glacier-like tint in the water sure looks cold.

Captures the essence of the area and season very nicely. Snow and forest green is the toughest combination I can think of to work with, but it didn't turn out poorly at all. A solid image.

I'm thinking it could use a bit more contrast and a bit 'o crop from the bottom. Otherwise, Nice!

I agree, tough image...but it turned out pretty good. I love the color of the water!

Richard,

Any chance you could get up there and shoot this really early in the morning before the light comes up.....I am thinking about a 30sec exp at F. 14 or so....

It would still bring out the color in the trees and it would soften the water a bit more

I like the scene, it looks nice and peaceful :toast:

That's a lot of water coming down already. I like this a lot - looks like cloud cover helped to give you nice even lighting to work with.

I was going to just pass this up, then I saw someone else's remark in another thread, that the way to receive critiques is to post them for others....makes perfect sense....so.....

I have to respectfully disagree with Mark H., above, about the bottom crop. To me the most striking part of this image is the sheer volume of cold, surging water you captured at it s bottom. You can see this by scrolling down to achieve the equivalent of a top-crop. Powerful stuff, that water. Neat sharp capture &c IMHO.

The important thing, for it to be an authentic PNW winter scene, is this: Did you freeze your *$$ in getting it? Stay tuned, hypothermia fans!

Water shutter speed looks great, as do the snowy cold conditions. I could go for a little more contrast, but only in the non-water parts of the scene because the water already looks good. Nice shot!
