Here's a quick snapshot taken this last sunday afternoon while I was out exploring in the buttermilk region(above Bishop) with family. This is along the dirt road which leads to Horton Lakes. We were supposed to get some good snow from this storm, but it fizzled. The Buttermilks are beautiful country that I look forward to exploring. Hopefully this doesn't look too light or dark as this was edited on a non calibrated moniter. Hope you enjoy.

Hi Cory!

I like this a lot! It has a strong graphic feel to it. I can almost feel the change in the weather.

That's a pretty neat area up there. The road is definitely 4x4 up higher (not too steep, but real rocky) and ends at a gate at the Horton Lakes Trailhead (such as it is).

How's life in Bishop?

Hey Preston! It's cold and windy in bishop right now! Brrrrrrrr! We have been enjoying the beautiful and relatively warm fall weather up until this last weekend. Things are going great here with the new job, now if we could just find that perfect house to buy! Sure is A LOT to explore here between the sierra, the whites, and the valley in between. Shortly after this shot above was taken we drove up to sabrina and north lake as the snow started to fall. Cold and windy. North lake was frozen over with the wind blowing the snow across the lake. Literally froze my hands getting shots of that! I need some winter clothes!! Let me know if you come out this way. :wavey:

Neat shot. One day I want to explore that area more. I always end up driving past as I travel up and back on Hwy 395

Very nice scene Cory. This area of the Sierras has a lot to offer in the way of photographic opportunities, as this image indicates.

Thanks for the comments guys. Yup, there is a lot to explore in the buttermilk region as I'm finding out.

This is really nice. Lovely shapes throughout the composition - both in the sky and land.
