I thought I would send a thank you note to the RMNP members regarding all of the great information they provided for my fall color trip to Colorado. I recently retired from academia where my work schedule prevented me from taking in the Colorado fall colors. I’ve been looking at fall color pictures on member sites for a number of years and finally decided this was the year to make the trip. I checked out most of the member’s web sites in August and early September looking for fall color trip tips and found some great ideas. Darren’s fall color trips was very helpful as was Andy Cook’s book which provided some good information. I gather from the discussion that the fall colors were not what they have been the last couple of years but I had a great time and was one of the lucky folks at Maroon Bells on the morning of September 24th after the snow storm. :jump:

As someone who offered you no help whatsoever, let me say, you're welcome!

Hi Philip,
Glad this group was a help to you. Some day, I hope to get out -your- way to shoot fall colors!

Had a chance to check out your Colorado gallery and I must say, that's one of the nicest shots of the Maroon Bells (first in the series) I've seen in a while! In fact, there are several unique compositions of this "overdone" subject. Nice work!

Very nice galleries and I'll second Ken's comment about the Bells images.
I'm originally from Wisconsin, moved out here in 1975. Where is Lost Creek Falls? I was in Wisconsin a year ago and photographed a number of falls in the northwest corner of the state.

Way to get a new perspective on that place!!! Hope you had fun out this way, sure looks like you did!!!

If anyone is interested in shooting waterfalls in Wisconsin they should purchase Patrick Lisi’s book Wisconsin waterfalls. He provides some nice pictures and a good description of how to find the falls. Lost Creek Falls is just outside Cornucopia but you wouldn’t find it without some good directions. I visited over 20 waterfalls in northern Wisconsin and the UP last spring and Lost Creek is by far the most interesting.
