The holiday exploration
Well, I went out to Utah, sort of as planned. Had a great Thanksgiving dinner in Moab and stayed the night there (painfully watching the sunset while eating - at least I had a good view, since we ate at the Sunset Grill...). But all the hotels were booked for Friday night, so we meandered down to Capitol Reef, then down Cottonwood Canyon and wound up in Zion... A bit more driving than I would have liked, but I managed to do some limited scouting along Cottonwood Canyon and the surrounding area.

Here's what's likely my best shot of the trip. Not much, but it's at least enough to keep me happy. This is a shot of a hillside at what used to be the Paria movie set. (The movie set was washed away in the 1990's, and the replacement buildings were burned by an arsonist in August this year; I was treated to the sight of 4 people using automatic paintball weaponry on the very pretty rock formations behind the former townsite.)

Beautiful layers and colors. I would darken and saturate the photo a little. Thanks for sharing.

Ohhh, agree, very nice! Nice vision and composition, I will try and look at these patterns again with a different eye.

Infinite possibilities to be had with these hills! May many a different eye enjoy them!
