The early bird...
Herring Gull, Sound of Mull

This is an image I took on my recent trip to Scotland. I was waiting for a ferry off of the Isle of Mull and was just "doodling" with the camera when I spotted this Herring Gull (at least I hope it's a Herring Gull  ). I actually have a sequence where the gull catches the fish, takes off and loses it! As always comments are welcome. The technical details are:

- Camera: Canon EOS 1D Mk II N
- Lens: Canon 500mm f4 L IS + 1.4x
- Aperture: f7.1
- Shutter Speed: 1/1250s
- ISO: 200
- Metering: Evaluative
- Exposure Control: Aperture Priority
- Camera Support: Gitzo 1325 + Kirk BH-1
- RAW Conversion: RawShooter Premium
- Post Processing: Levels, Curves, Contrast, USM

Many thanks for looking

Helge, just done some searching on the internet and I think the fish is one of the pipefish family although I don't know which one

Anyone else any ideas?
