This was taken on a chilly morning a couple weeks ago. It was a good sunrise with a large cloud bouncing orange/red/pinkish light back onto the pasture and Mt. Tom. Hope you enjoy.

Cory, this is a great scene. The detail is excellent throughout. Looks very familiar from this area as I have been there many times over the years.

Thanks for the comment Paul. This was taken on shoshone dr, across the street(vacant lot) from where we are renting.

She's a beaut Cory. One could argue that Mount Tom might be the most impressive Eastern Sierra single peak rising up from US395 roadside viewpoints. Rising 8500 feet from the highway to 13.7k without the usual obstructions of closer ridgelines. Rather like the view from the boulder piles about the Buttermilk dirt road areas. In time will size up a shot there to come back to some early fallmorning when rabbitbush color those usually dull sagebrush areas yellow. And of course while out there for fall aspen work after a little storm has just dusted the peaks. ...David

Cory, this is really nice! The light is wonderful. I gotta admit that Mount Tom is a big mother, in a commanding position. Funny, but you know you're familiar with a spot when you can say, "Hey! I know that tree!" I think the tree could use a bit more breathing room on it's right side-it seems a bit tight to the edge of the frame. Mount Tom is very nicely placed.

Good job!

Thanks for the comments. I must admit that I am rather enamored with Mt. Tom. It's the quintessential mountain in shape, size, and form. Anyone here climb it from Horton lakes side? I sure would like to do that after the spring thaw.

Very nice, Cory. The light in this phograph is just sublime. I didn't visit the Eastern Sierra this year and after seeing your photograph I am aching to get back there soon.

Nice to see you posting again.

Regards.

Thanks Anil. Let me know when you're in the area and we can hook-up. And that goes for anyone too. :wavey:
