Folks,
This images was taken in Lundy Canyon , just north of Mono Lake in October. I like whats going on here. Does the really "hot" spot above the rock bother you?( It kind of does me)? Am i being too critical?

I like the overall image, but I would burn the hotspot in photoshop to darken it some. You won't get any more detail, but it won't be as bright.

Really like the composition here, Jack. The hotspots are definitely a problem. Might be worth another visit on a cloudy day?

Jack it is a bit distracting but not to the point where it really bothers me, I do think it is nice image, but I am kinda partial to flowing water shots

Hello Jack! I didn't really notice the spot until you said something. Then again, I had just gotten up so it could have been that too. Now that I look at it, it is a bit distracting. I love the image though.

I would grab some ofthe cascading water from the lower section and drop it over the hot spot at about 10% visible to add some lost texture, but soft enough not to be recognizable, the fade the edges so it blends in subtly. . .

That hotspot is exactly where my eye goes. It takes a far amount of conscious effort to stay away from it.
Compositionally, I like it. It has a nice flow to it.
I am still working on the mushroom id. There are two more references I want to look at, neither one which I own.
I like the shot, but the hotspot is a bit to hot for me. It looks like a good oppertunity to blend a couple of shots together. As mentioned, you may be able to get away with a bit of careful cloning if done tastefully.

Put me down as a little bothered by the hotspots, Jack. The rest of the image is nice.
