Invested in a 300mm 2.8 lens last week due to the drop in price on L lenses. Over £200 off at Mifsuds
Then yesterday the local Kingfisher turned up after an absence of a year.
So I set up the 300mm to get some shots,
Fantastic lens !
Fantastic weather !
Fantastic bird !
Fantastic weekend !
Canon EOS 1Dmk2n, 300mm 2.8 lens, 1/320 sec, F8, 200 ISO.
Taken this morning at 11.30 am.

Hi Gary
Super shot, love the inquisitive look plus great light, colours and BG. Yes it is a fantastic lens, I purchased one at the start of the year and can't praise it enough!

Hi Gary
great image and I agree with the other comments.
Hi all thanks for the comments.
yes 3 metres about spot on,
The first time I moved the camera slightly the bird looked alarmed and I thought It would fly away, but it relaxed. Then when I took the first shot, again it looked very wary. However after that it totally ignored any noise and movement and was totally engrossed in fishing.
In all I took 288 shots including a fabulous one with a fish sticking half-out of it’s mouth which I don’t want to show yet as I want to keep it for a competition.
