West Burton Falls
West Burton falls in the Yorkshire Dales; following on from the two hot topics in the forum, I thought I'd post a landscape instead of a captive bird

Nikon D2X 20-35 f/2.8 CIR PL, 0.6 ND, flash -2.5 stops on rear curtain sync to add a bit of sparkle and brightness to foreground. exposed at 100ISO f/16 for around 2 seconds

Beautiful falls and greens .I could pass many hours in a place like this .
This doesn't look like like a captive landscape ...
Something about the Lhs is unsettling .

Thanks very much for the technical details .
Best wishes

Aesome :jump: , for me it would of been the icing on the cake if a dipper was the green rock. (WILD DIPPER)

Great environmental shot John :toast:

Hi John
a very nice scene with some very nice colours. I feel like jumping into the picture and moving that beautiful stone with the moss on it a little to the left and I feel it would balance the picture better IMHO. :toast:

Hi John

Cracking image, nice composition with deep rich colours and good use of fill flash!

I am a landscapes man, but...

Very nice! Perfect placement of the falls, and I like the huge foreground. I do find my eyes drawn to the bright foliage at the top - perhaps if that was toned down, and then the whole image lifted a bit?

One of the best shots of these falls I've seen.

Hi John,
A lovely serene scene. Nice to see a landscape example of how flash can be used to good effect.
