Pigeon Point
I was heading down to Ano Nuevo State Park last week to catch the elephant seal action and decided to stop at the nearby Pigeon Point Lighthouse since it was too foggy to shoot much of anything else. I was surprised to see that the actual light is basically a little rotating lantern that's placed just outside the actual light tower.

I like the moodiness of this. I'd probably prefer if the foreground wasn't there at all and you just focused on the foggy lighthouse area. The greens detract from the image in my opinion.

I like the moodiness of this too, John. I think the foreground shape is necessary to the composition. I do think it would have worke better if it was less heavy in terms of its darkness when compared to the main part if the fhoto. Would it be possible to open it up a bit and maybe pull back on the green? I really like the enveloping light in the sky and the fog.

John,

Nice composition. The fog really sets a mood, but there seems to be a magenta tint to it.

A beautiful take on this landmark that I am most familiar with. I love the composition as is and wouldn't change a thing.

John, I missed this earlier on my visits here. This looks really good with the low fog cover. I can see this place rendering images in all kinds of weather. A really great site.
