This photo was made during my trip in October. I really like the various curves and textures in these granite rocks.

Preston,

I like how all the the rocks piece together. Kind of like a puzzle. The detail is fantastic. Well seen.

Even though I can sense the rough texture of the the Alabama rock, this has a very organic feel to it. I love to just wander through the alabama hills and explore the rock formations. It is a magical place.

Quite a site Preston. An excellent rendering & representation from these very special formations. I'm sure if we spent enough time in the Alabama Hills you could find a design of most anything in the world with the rock structures and patterns out there. During the off hours of not shooting out there I have wondered around with a trash bag picking up stuff that has typically blown loose from campers and such. The place seems to be well respected by most and there is not too much debris floating around thankfully. As Cory said, it is a magical place.

Hi Preston,

This is very interesting. Given my fancy for photographing rocks it immediately captured my attention. I love the composition which has a nice flow and beautiful patterns. I do wish, however, that the light wasn't so flat. More directional light would have helped reveal the 3-D shapes of these rocks but I am not sure if that was necessarily your intention.

Thanks for sharing it with us.

Regards.
