Sandy,

Very well deserved recognition. A beautiful frame.

Are you willing to share how you get such excellent image compression while seeming to retain very good viewing quality? My photos always turn to mush by the time I get them that small.

Janet, I love my 18-200 VR for this reason! Being basically very lazy and not willing to take my whole backpack with every lens I own into every vineyard or on every trek I do, I just love this lens and use it for 95% of my shots. Just got a 500 F4, so that will change a bit, but I'm sure this 18-200 VR lens will be my primary one for a very long time. It focuses down to 8 inches, and is tack sharp. So I use it for closeup shots, wide angle panos, as well as fair-range telefoto landscapes.
Thid is almost a full-frame shot after I zoomed in, and that's the big reason it is so sharp - din't have to blow it up at all. Tripod, too, of course - although this VR lens also allows me to be lazy sometimes, here, too.
