The Somerset Levels roosts are the most impressive I have ever seen but haven't lived up to expecations yet this year (but then neither has the weather!). Details of the roost are often posted here http://pub13.bravenet.com/forum/1065729998

There is a large roost in the Severn Vale that can be impressive and doesn't draw the crowds like the Somerset roosts. A few years ago it was at WWT Slimbridge but the roost has now moved to Purton. I think this is where the BBC filmed a roost for one of Bill Oddie's wildlife programmes. I don't know much about it but could find out if anybody wants more details.

Best wishes
Paul

There is a well-known Starling roost at Brighton`s West Pier.

Hi Brian,

The RSBP reserve at Otmoor - http://www.rspb.org.uk/reserves/guide/o/otmoor/index.asp - has starlings roosting numbers are currently estimated at about 10,000. It is right on my door step and did walk out there early last month when the numbers were at about 2,000. I doubt it is as impressive at the ones down in Somerset but maybe worth it if you are in the area.

The starling roost in Somerset sounds good, might be able to do slimbridge and the roost in the same day by the sounds of it.
