Phillip.

Focal length @ 800mm , was the LEO nervous Phil
At ISO 800 it looks amazing, is this with the firmware upgrade?

Phil, this looks amazingly clean for 800iso. I always think there's noise in my D2X at 400!!! I think though the firmware upgrade has made a slight improvement in my noise levels.
Hi Philip,
I know we frequently try to arrest any subject movement with the use of high shutter speeds but surely using a stuffed bird to get round this issue is going a little too far
Hi thank you for taking the time to have a look and comment it is really appreciated, Hi vince yes it is with the latest firmware update, john after much testing it appears that the blue channel noise has been reduced somewhat with the latest firmware update I have been experimenting with different in camera tone curves and the same tone curves applied in capture I think I've got back to the stage where I feel happy again.
Hi justin I don't know what you mean by vast shutter speed the old saying goes a dead one is as good as alive one as long as the dead one looks like alive one , on a serious note that it's a shame it was hit by a heavy goods vehicle which broke its neck i do find it very useful for testing my cameras and lenses out on this is the first time though I have ever posted an image from it.
