Robin On Watch Duties
Taken yesterday whilst out & about checking the feeders. I think this little fella was placed on look out duties whilst the other birds fed at the feeders, local Sparrowhawks are present in the area.

D2X - 400mm AF-S F2.8
ISO 200, F6.7, 1/125sec
Vehicle used as a hide

Thanks for looking :toast:

What a lovely clean, uncluttered, pin-sharp shot! I do like the streaks of rain, too, although I do wish there were a few more of them. Perhaps you could clone a few in!

super stuff Vince...makes me want to bin all my robin images!!, the lighting is really intersting and reveals much plumage detail

Nice clean, simple, well exposed, agree about the rain streaks, with so few I might have been tempted to get rid of them totally, it would have been nice to have more...

Hi Vince

Nothing to nit hear - beautiful image with a nice BG and lovely soft lighting. Not sure about all the space on the right, but that' a personal thing!

Faultless, apart from lack of incoming out of focus sparrow hawk  .

Hard work Gavin, I found it difficult to clone out the anklets & jesses

By the way this is one of them hardcore wild Robins from deep in the countryside & not one of them back garden Robins

If anyone wants to know what a sharp image should look like on screen, then they should look at this one. Nice work.

Very nice-rain is like snow in an image, difficult to get the right balance,i would tend to clone the drops out on this image :toast:

Agree with Dave C. here in the fact there's not quite enough rain to make it look like it's raining, so I'd be tempted to get rid of it possibly, but that's a personal thing. Also agree with what David K said about a bit off the right, again, a taste thing. Wonderful shot though with great detail, perch, and BG. Oozing quality throughout. Wish it were mine! :toast: :toast: :toast:
