This weekend looks like it will be warmer than it has been.
Can anyone reccommend any areas in OK/Ark/Texas that would have abundant wildlife to photograph? Any mogrations going on?
I'm in north Texas, fairly new to the area, and Ok with a 5-6 hour drive.
What is a good source to find out what/when and where wildlife is
abundant and accessible?
Thanks

Sorry for the typos! (one C in recommend and migrations, not mogrations)

Hi Larry,
I won't be able to help you with the wildlife information you requested but I wanted to welcome you to CSNP. I'm sure others will chime in soon with some help on your request. I know the geese are migrating through KC and I think their traditional flyway may be near the Texas/Arkansas border so there may be an opportunity there.
Anyway, welcome aboard, we look forward to seeing some of your images!
Well, Thank you, Wayne for the warm welcome!
I'm looking forward to "meeting" area photographers.
I've just gone digital so I'm still getting used to my new gear!
Thanks!

Welcome Larry! I'm not sure if you want to drive to northwest Arkansas, but the Ponca area is a popular place to watch a resident elk herd. There are some pretty big bulls in the bunch, which you won't see every trip, but if you're lucky...Still, you can count on seeing some cows and small-medium-sized bulls most days. The best times to be there are early in the morning - before sunrise - and late afternoon. Just look for cars stopped along the highway. click here for directions. Good luck!
