No chances for making any fresh new images recently, so here's a golden oldie.
I was told by a good friend of a place WWT Slimbridge at where I could almost garuntee a sighting of a Water Rail and perhaps a chance for a photograph
I arrived at 9am and as instructed and sat quietly with my camera poised and sure enough about an hour later from the undergrowth crept this beautiful bird giving me the oppurtunity to get just one shot before he/she? dissappeared back in to the undergrowth.
Nice shot, Larry. By the bird feeders, right?
Was photographing a Water Rail which has turned up locally today, but shutter speeds were very low, so will be happy if I have anything this good!

That's the place Jeremy, also you often see them from the Barclay Hide and the Jack Death Hide (funny sort of name for a hide, should really be called the Jack Frost hide as it's always freezing in there at 8am)

Hi Larry
An excellent composition for such a rare bird. I have heard you can see water rail at Slimbridge but I didn't know where. I might check out the feeder area next time I visit, although it seems you need plenty of patience (and luck) to catch a glimpse of this bird. Worth the wait though in this case, a fine result.

Nice composition - I think I would be tempted to tone down or remove a couple of the stones!
