Taken yesterday whilst out & about topping up the feeders

Background by the way is a sunset lit hawthorne hedge

Really beautiful vincent,
I think that’s a perfect background for a Golfinch.

The background and the composition are excellent, as always.

However, I do think that my eye is drawn to the perch rather than the bird, it just seems to "pop" more. May be slightly more DOF would help?

Lovely image Vince, would wish for a little more DOF though.

I see what Mark means about the perch 'popping' more - I think it's because the sharper texture of the wood stands out more than the soft feathers of the birds chest.

Cracking shot all the same, although I think the tail is maybe just a tad too OOF. Small nits though - I wish this shot was mine!
