Double rainbows backdropped by the Canadian Rockies near Icefields summit. One of the very few images I've ever taken from the road, and you should have seen me and every other passing motorist slam on the brakes and pull over for this one! The fact that there was no place to pull over wasn't really an issue at this point. I was the first one there, and I took way too many images during a 10 minute long show. It was the most vibrant rainbow I can remember seeing. Before long there must have been fifteen people shooting it!

You know, half the fun of being a photographer is just being out there looking for, and finding, the good stuff. When you're old and decrepit, sitting there in your wheelchair, sucking oxygen from a bottle, at least you can be happy knowing that you've seen beautiful things and lived a full life.
As far as the photo goes, it's a good snap, but as far as the memory goes, I think you'll remember the real live event for a long time.

I agree completely Mark.

Wonderful sight, and I'm sure an incredible experience. I've never seen a rainbow that vibrant before, let alone capture one.

I think this could sell in a touristy shop around the area. People are suckers for rainbows. I've seen 2 really really really vibrandt double rainbows in my recent life, but never in a spot to capture them unfortunately.
If I sell this to a friend of mine, do I get a commssion?

You can sell the web-res. version all you want to friends of yours.

A nice shot. Well I've seen a double rainbow only once but it was in the Canadian priaries so such a beautiful backdrop was missing.

Very cool image. Thiis looks like it's close to the Athabaska Glacier. west of Jasper.

Great shot, Marc. I have not driven this part of the world yet but I can only imagine what the feeling is with these huge towering mountains around you must be like..... awesome rainbow show.

Nice. The Canadian Rockies seem to have a penchant for producing insane rainbows. I saw what was easily the most vibrant rainbow I've ever laid eyes on (pictures included) Jasper back in July this year - at times it reached a triple arch - and about a week before, a friend of mine apparently saw a double near Blue River on the Yellowhead.
I'll never need an excuse to go up there, I'd gladly pay to go on a vacation in the Canadian Rockies, but if I needed one, rainbow chasing might as well be it.
