Serendipitous Ram
Sometimes seeking out wildlife in their natural environment proves fruitless. Then there are the times when you walk out of the Visitor's Center and the wildlife is 50 feet from you! Go figure ....

But I won't look a gift "ram" in the mouth this time as I was able to spend about 10 minutes shooting (I know, I know, it's near midday, so what are ya going to do!) this Bighorn Ram and his herd just outside Rocky Mountain National Park in November.

Although you probably would have liked better surroundings, I'm guessing it's still a rare opportunity to see Bighorn sheep in the wild, and so close. You did a nice job with this guy, given the harsh light. The detail is really nice here Wayne. These beasts are really interesting to study. Thanks for the post!

Wayne, it is always a treat to catch one of these guys with a camera, they can be very elusive!

It's always nice to see these in the wild, though "wild" may not describe your surroundings that accurately.
