Hi to all,
Oystercatcher photographed at Filey Brigg on saturday , fantastic views of Purple Sandpiper , Knot , Oystercatcher , Rock Pipit , Great Northern and Black Throated Divers and the odd Seal were on offer to those brave enough to venture out over the treacherous rocks.
Thanks to Glyn Hudson for the guided tour.
Struggled with the whites in the harsh light
Crop for comp , USM , Hl/S in CS2
Canon 20D , 500mm F4 L IS , 1.4t/c , W/Hv2 Gitzo 1325
1/400th at F5.6 iso100 E/comp -1/3
All comments and advice most welcome

Hi Andy,
I like the colours and comp, but seems a little dark on my monitor so I had a play and found with a little fiddling you can get more detail out.
I used levels, saturation, noise reduction and sharpening.
Looks like Filey Brig is another place I need to check out.

Hi Andy
A great composition and Tim has already answered my main nit with this shot. Tim's repost has really lifted the shot.
cheers

Hi Tim,
Your version is a massive improvement over mine , you've managed to get so much more detail and colour out of the image , I must improve on my Photoshop skills.

Hi Andrew
Nicely composed image - much prefer Tim's re-post but I haven't forgotten who took the image. Most of us can still improve on our Photoshop skill - me included!

Yeah I've thought about just sending my images to Tim...would save me the hours of processing that Tim does in a couple of minutes
The repost shows the image at it's best. Really nice shot though Andy and it just shows what can be done to vastly improve an image.
Like it, crop too, difficult lighting handled well, Tim's repost shows what is possible, you don't say whether it was shot in RAW if so it is certainly worth another visit to the original file.

Hi to all,
Thanks to all for the comments and advice , and thanks to Tim for showing me just how much detail my 20D can capture , hopefully with the advice which is so freely given on this forum my photography will improve. ( and I'll keep practicing my Photoshop skills )

Great angle and composition and I like the dark, moody lighting on this one.
Tim's re-post works a treat IMO and brings out the best in your image.
