Stonechat II
This image is a follow up of yesterdays upload of a female Stonechat, this time she gave a head turn.

This taken late yesterday as the sun was due to set.

D2X - 400mm AF-S
ISO200, F7.1, 1/160sec
On foot with kit mounted on tripod

Thanks for looking & for any comments made :toast:

For those interested I thought I should post the original shot that was taken, this shows how much I had to crop in

That's one hell of a crop Vince:eek:,and suprisingly the detail has held up pretty well.
Nice light and a great species.

She was a very shy bird & on foot she made sure the distance was kept bless her lol. I will aim to get her full frame as soon as the weather settles.

Hi Vince

I've had some recent encounters with a Stonechat pair & they're delightful little birds.

The crop has held up pretty well, but the post is too tight for my taste. However, the original shows you certainly had plenty of space. It also indicates that if the subject is sharp it can take quite a significant magnification - for web purposes anyway.

Good detail considering the crop Vince. Nice to see the back detail and head turn too.
