Bit of a colourful shot I know, but it was wonderful light coupled with really still water. When I get time, I'll post another image from this and I'll share the story behind this.
Taken at Stover in Devon at the weekend. Again, BG might not suit all, but I like it for it's colour alone.
Comments appreciated

This is very beautiful, so sharp its dangerous, loads of colour so my cup of tea. Tree trunks are good, was it a Gitzo tree trunk?
What exquisite light and colours you've caught here. The iridescent green feathers on the back of the ducks head are positively glowing.
The background works very well for me.
The shot works for me too. Just a very & I mean 'very' slight CCW rotation required to level the water.

No Wayne. The water really does go downhill. You should see the waterfall at the other end.Puts Niagara to shame Thanks, mental note to try it.

Hi Graeme
A terrific image of one of our most common birds. Great colour, light and detail. My only suggestion is to clone out the bright blob just to left of the tail feathers.
A great image and a super demonstration that you don't always need to find unusual species to come up with attractive wildlife images, just a good eye.
cheers
