I bet you were well pleased with it at the time, a defiant stonechat doing what they do best. I think you need to clone out the poo as it does draw the eye unfortunately. It caused me to look at my stonechat images also from a few summers a go and also with the 50-500, it looks like a trip to the moors is on the cards for me.
You sure that is a female? Looks good, agree with Tim re the poo... bg is a touch noisy, is this a crop? Nice pose but critical sharpness seems to be a touch lacking.
Firstly sorry 'bout the poo. I never noticed it before I posted!!! This was really one of my first attempts at getting a close shot of a bird so the camera settings are hilarious (f/9!!). Phil, definitely a female. It was very approachable so about an 80% crop of frame. Agree with you a little noisy and just lacking the full sharpness.
Cheers MJ

Hi MJ, agree with the previous comments. I can see why you like this.. really nice feel to it. Comp is really good. I does lack the sharpness needed unfortunately, but nice one for posting

Like it though
There is some serious halo action going down around that bird. Maybe this is a big crop?
