Thanks.

Nice shot Momo. Even though the roofs are of the same vintage, for some reason the buildings in the background seem more modern. I would be tempted to play with angles (maybe a touch closer and lower) so that the wall blocks them from view. I love the dark almost monochromatic color palette of everything but the grass and church.

While perfectly composed, I don't see anything too compelling about the image. I like the gray clouds, I like the weathered church, but the image doesn't move me.

Momo,

Do you have a Black and White version? I think it might be more interesting in B&W, although this photo might not have the range. I'd try it in B&W and perhaps with a lighter sky to get a "kinda-HighKey" look to the image (I can't remember which Ansel Adams photo I'm thinking of here).

Like John said, I'd be tempted to either 1) get low and block the houses from view or 2) photoshop them out. It all depends on what you vision for the image is. I'd also like to see a frame of the weathered cross against the adobe background of the church walls, that might be neat.

Oh, forgot to mention, really like your "Chimayo" photo, looks like an interesting locale.
Cheers,
Alex

not a color conversion

Momo,

I like much of your work but this one isnt my favorite. I have shot several of the churches down there and I think camera movements are essential. Also, trying to find a different way of looking at things is critical. This is an example of a shot I took last year at St Jerome Church - Taos Pueblo on 4x5. (It had some real wild camera movements to pull it off)

Hope that helps.

Momo, convert it to B&W since there is not a lot going on colorwise.

Momo,

I agree with RichieV. You've got some very creative work and frankly this looks a bit like a tourist snapshot. :wavey:

Hi guys.

Thanks for all the input. I appreciate it even when it's not so positive (I am here to learn). I will try converting to B&W and move on. Thanks again.

Hello Momo,

Looks like a real estate photo. There may be a picture here, but you really need to look for a more compelling angle. Try cropping out the adjacent properties?
